BBQ Competition Winners

Barbecue Competitions are for The Real Iron Chefs, if you don't think so, try a weekend competing in a professional pitmaster competition. The days are long but the nights can be longer. Traveling to the location after much time spent packing and planning. Set up your tent and prep tables, fire up the pits/smokers, and begin the rubbing, marinating, injecting and test cooking. The air is filled with the sweet perfume of hardwood smoke, roasting meat, and burning sugar as teams prepare food. I could go on, but many of you reading this post are more than aware of the hard work, effort and dedication this sport/hobby entails.

Smoke gets in your eyes, and your blood. Most say that once you've competed, you get addicted. I believe this to be true. Whether you say Barbecue, Barbeque, Barbaque, BBQ, B-B-Que, Bar-B-Q, Bar-B-Que or Bar-B-Que it's all the same and you now have that competive flame that continues to burn. #JonesyQ BBQ Co is excited to start back on the 2018 competition circuit. Back to the seductive scent of smoke and weekend fellowship with old friends~ BBQ family.

This past weekend at our local BBQ Competition,

, JonesyQ BBQ Co combined their pitmaster skills with the boys from the Grills of Mississippi and competed in the People’s Choice Category. Yes, we won and I'm incredibly excited about this because this honor went to some 'good ole' local BBQ guys. Our friends, neighbors and folks from the Jackson Metro came to support us. This reminded me of a local BBQ Competition from a few years ago, the Ques, Blues & Cruise - Heavenly Hogs BBQ contest. We won big that day in many categories and walked away with some awesome trophies, but the People’s Choice Award always meant more because of the support from friends. Check out that sweet little People’s Choice Pig I had stored in the garage.

In closing on my BBQ jumbled thoughts today, #JonesyQ is looking forward to the upcoming weekend competition and ready to raise a toast to all the competing Teams. This quintessential Boy from the Delta, a little sweet and little spicy is ready to raise some smoke and get cooking again. SALUD 🍻 cheers

It's back to the big old family BBQ picnic
